Fifty acres at the edge of Pisgah National Forest, with standing stones, a spring and a tobacco barn. Here is how I would photograph a wedding that is meant to feel like a ritual.
Hawk & Hawthorne is in Barnardsville, north of Asheville, and the venue describes weddings in a valley of wildflower meadows, forest paths, gardens and a heritage tobacco barn. This is how I would plan it, using what the venue shares on its site.
Visits are by appointment, registration or ticketed event only, so I would not plan a casual drive-by. The venue also says it hosts only 10 to 15 weddings a year, which tells me the day is built around you, not around a schedule of other events.

Three places that photograph differently
Ritual Hill is described as an open sanctuary framed by standing stones and mountain vistas. Wide open sky is a gift for ceremony photographs, because there is nothing between the two of you and the light. I would keep the frame loose and let the stones and ridge do the scene setting.
The Heritage Barn is a renovated tobacco barn above a flower farm, used for dinner, the dance floor and as the rainy-day backup. The Heart Spring is a heart-shaped spring beside a hawthorn tree, which the venue suggests for water-themed moments, from performances to small gatherings. I would give that spring ten quiet minutes with you, no posing, just stillness and the reflection.
A day with long edges
The venue's offerings page lists five hours of prep the day before the wedding, then access from 9 a.m. to midnight on the day. That much time changes the photographs. I would use the day before for a relaxed walk around the property, so by the morning you know where you like the light.
On the wedding day I would start with details and getting ready, then a first look if you want one, on a forest path or in a meadow where the two of you can be alone. After the ceremony I would give you a window of golden-hour portraits in the meadow while guests settle into the barn.

Dusk, fireflies and string lights
The venue writes about the valley glowing with fireflies, soft light and warm laughter as dusk settles behind the ridge. I would stay for that. Dusk is when the sky goes blue, the barn lights turn warm, and faces look their best. Dance floor frames under string lights are some of the most alive pictures in any gallery.
Fireflies are hard to photograph and I will not promise them. They depend on the month and the weather. I would pick a few wide, quiet frames in the blue hour and let the rest be a memory.
Micro weddings and elopements
Hawk & Hawthorne says it hosts micro weddings, elopements and full weekend retreats, and creates each ceremony custom. Weekday, off-season and micro options are priced differently from peak weekends, per the offerings page. For a very small day, I would want an hour at the spring, an hour on the hill, and time to eat in the barn.
The site does not describe a photographer policy. Ask the team about outside photographers before you hire anyone.

Questions
Asked and answered
Does Hawk & Hawthorne allow outside photographers?
The venue's site does not state a photographer policy. Email the team at the address on their site before you book anyone, and tell them what you want.
What is the best time of day for photos?
Late afternoon through dusk. The valley is open and the light turns warm, and the barn lights come on as the sky goes blue. For a ceremony on Ritual Hill I would watch where the sun sits at your start time.
Can we have a small ceremony?
Yes. The venue lists micro weddings and elopements, with each ceremony made to fit. The offerings page says weekday and off-season dates start lower than peak weekends.
