A 150-acre mountain estate in Canton with a weatherproof chapel full of ridge views. It is built for rain or shine, which makes it easy to plan photographs around.
Chestnut Ridge is west of Asheville, and the venue's FAQ puts it about fifteen miles away, so it works for couples who want a mountain estate close to the city. This is how I would plan the day, based on what the venue says on its own site.
What stands out is the structure. The venue says each wedding gets full-day exclusive access, with only one wedding per day, and two private getting-ready suites. For a photographer that means a day with no other couples on the grounds and space to move.

Getting ready in the loft
The venue lists a lofted bridal suite and a groom's den as its getting-ready spaces. A loft usually means a window and a view, and a window is what I want at 10 a.m. I would set the dress near the light, shoot rings and letters on a clear surface, and keep the room quiet.
If you plan a first look, I would pick a spot between the suites and the chapel, so you do not have to walk far in heels or dress shoes, and so the mountains are behind you.
The chapel and the long view
The Mountain-View Chapel is described as fully weatherproof with big windows facing the mountains. That is a practical gift. A ceremony in even daylight, with the ridge showing through glass, photographs cleanly whatever the sky does. Rain on the windows can be lovely, too.
The venue also offers an outdoor patio ceremony as an add-on, and a patio with a stone fireplace for cocktails. I would use the patio for the quiet pictures at the end of the afternoon. A fireplace and a ridgeline at dusk give you warm foreground, cool distance.

Planning a day that moves easily
The venue says its planning staff helps with timelines and vendors. I would send your planner a simple frame: details and getting ready, first look, ceremony, family photos in one block, then portraits at the best light of your month, which for most couples is the hour before sunset.
Season shapes the timeline. In summer there is plenty of daylight after a late ceremony. In fall and winter sunset comes early, so I would move portraits before the ceremony or shorten the family block.
Vendors and very small weddings
The FAQ says couples on the Event Management and Venue + Planning options can bring vendors they love, while All-Inclusive weddings use a curated team included in the package. That is the venue's published vendor rule. It does not address photographers by name, so ask which option fits if you want to hire me.
Chestnut Ridge hosts up to about 200 guests and also lists a Micro-Weddings package for smaller groups who want the chapel and the estate. The site does not describe an elopement package with prices, so ask the team directly.
