The Horse Shoe Farm is an 85-acre property along the French Broad River in Hendersonville. It is a boutique resort with a restaurant, a spa and lodging, so a wedding here can stretch across a weekend. This is how I would plan it, from what the farm publishes.
The farm has a layered past. It was a cattle farm from the 1950s, then a family hobby farm full of vintage cars, and since 2017 a private retreat. You can still feel the working-farm bones in the fences and the barns.

The covered bridge and the gazebo
The farm names its Covered Bridge and Gazebo as a backdrop for ceremonies, with pond views across the pastures and a creek running nearby. A covered bridge is a gift for photographs. The roof makes even, soft light inside, the beams frame you, and the opening at each end glows.
I would plan your first look near it, then a quiet walk out along the pasture fence. If the ceremony is at the gazebo, I would watch the pond for reflections and keep the frame wide enough to hold the grass and the sky.
Sunset Barn and the Pisgah view
The Sunset Barn is set at the highest point on the property, and the farm says it is a spectacular place to catch the daily sunset over the Mount Pisgah vista. It holds 75 to 200 guests, in two connected areas. A view where the sun drops behind a ridge is ideal for golden-hour portraits just before dinner.
My plan would be simple. Family photos early, the couple's portraits in the hour before sunset, and a short second portrait session right as the sun drops, while guests are fed. The farm's Sky Barn also lists sunset vistas over Mount Pisgah, for 50 to 300 guests.

A weekend, not just an afternoon
The farm says it can host weddings of all styles, from intimate elopements to multi-day celebrations, and its lodging sleeps up to 84 guests across estate homes, cottages and suites. I like that for photographs. Getting ready in a house with morning light, a Friday dinner, a Sunday walk when everyone is relaxed.
The Silo Cookhouse has indoor and outdoor dining with views toward the sunset and can seat 75 or fewer, which makes it a good setting for a rehearsal dinner or a small wedding meal.
Seasons on the river farm
Spring brings green pastures. Summer means long evenings and a late sunset, so a later ceremony still has golden light. In autumn, sunset arrives earlier and the hills turn color, so the first look moves closer to the ceremony. Winter means an early dark, so I would shorten the timeline.
The farm does not publish a photographer policy on the pages I read. Ask the sales team about outside photographers when you inquire.

Questions
Asked and answered
Where are the best portrait spots at The Horse Shoe Farm?
The covered bridge and gazebo area, the pastures along the fence lines, and the Sunset Barn area around sunset. I would walk the property with you before the day.
Can I bring my own photographer?
I did not find a published photographer policy. Ask the farm's sales team when you inquire, and tell them who you are considering.
Does the farm host elopements?
Its weddings page says it hosts everything from intimate elopements to multi-day celebrations. Packages are custom, so ask what a small day includes.
